Participate in a Platinum Jubilee Marathon for Queen Elizabeth II 70 years of service to Great Britain. Be part of this historic milestone
She became the first British monarch to rule for seven decades. No one before her had held the throne longer. In 2022, Britons have not one but two extra non-working days - so they can enjoy the festivities: The Queen's birthday and platinum jubilee.
The celebrations: The big celebrations for this special day of the succession to the crown are planned for the first weekend of June 2022. The celebrations will include a parade involving over 1,400 servicemen from the various units of the Royal Armed Forces, 200 horses and 400 musicians. They will walk the traditional route - from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Square, accompanied by the Royal Family. The celebration will also include a celebratory lunch at Windsor and will be attended by more than 1,600 friends and relatives of the Queen. A special celebratory mass is also planned at St Paul's Cathedral, after which there will be a concert taking place at Buckingham Palace and featuring showbiz stars from around the world.
About her Majesty: The Queen's full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor and she was born on 26.04.1926. In 1951, her father George VI's health deteriorated and Elizabeth often replaced him at public events. In early 1952 Elizabeth and her husband, Philip, set off on a visit to Australia and New Zealand via Kenya. On the 6th of February, when they get home they find out about the death of George VI, which means - Elizabeth takes her place on the throne.
