Mauritius is a tropical paradise, created by volcanic activity some 8 million years ago is: Mauritius ranks among the best beach and honeymoon destinations in the world. The beach Trou aux Biches was named the world’s best beach destination by the World Travel Awards in 2011.
We created a virtual run inspired by this Indian Ocean gem. The entire island of Mauritius is just 2040 km2 area and is 45 km wide. We decided to provoke you to complete a virtual run the distance of the longest beach on Mauritius – Metemwe beach which is 12km.
This Virtual run medal design – represents Eden’s nature of the island. Mauritius was the only known habitat of the Dodo bird. Dodo was a flightless bird that was extinct by 1681.
The Mauritius virtual run medal depicts “the mountain hill Le Morne Brabant played a significant role in the country’s history. On the front side of the medal, you can find also the famous flower “Birds of Paradise” and the Foby bird – an animal from the island’s fauna.
The backside of the medal is decorated with the shape of the island. Flora & Fauna on the island includes some 600 indigenous species.
